This is a year-long course. The first semester of this course will focus on pre-20th-century world economic history beginning with the agricultural revolution and ending with the second industrial revolution. The second semester will focus on 20th-century world economic history. Grades will be based on a midterm exam (45%) and a final exam (55%). The PowerPoint presentations used for each class will be available on line. The class notes indicate the sources from which most of the lecture material is derived, but you will only be responsible for the material covered in class.
